DID YOU KNOW?

Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur was a Jew from Galilee and one of  Jesus’ twelve apostles. Named “Jacques son of Zebedee” in the New Testament, he was born in Bethsaida in the year 5 BC and died in Jerusalem in the year 44 AD. This statue in his image overlooked several cities around the world and for several decades is well installed on its perch in the Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur church, and has religiously watched over the population of my native village, Barraute.

A GREAT CHALLENGE

At the beginning of 2023, with the help of his pilgrim’s staff, Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur came to settle comfortably in my garage so I could give him a makeover!

I therefore had the pleasure of carrying out, step by step and using the appropriate tools, the restoration of this 5’8” high and incredibly heavy cement statue. Believe me, I worked with precision and meticulousness for several months to restore its elegance and all its original shapes.
